ARBITRATION COURT.
CANNING FIRMS’ CASES.

The Arbitration Court to-day reserved its decision after hearing the application lor an extension of the 40-hour week during part of the year preferred by vegetable canning and jam making firms. Rush periods were also the ground of an application by a firm including fish and meat in its canning operations, and which also makes starch. The St. George Factory, Dunedin, had its case taken separately and decision was reserved.
