The Apiti seniors had. a_ bye this wock. The juniors journeyed to Kimbolton. After a good even game Kimbolton proved victorious, by 14 to 11. The tries for Apiti wero scored by McKenzie, Ilarland, and McMurtric, whilst Ilarland converted one. Fortunately the ground was not too wot. The country up here dries very quickly. Mr Russell, of Kimbolton, was the rcThe local schoolboys also bad a game with Kimbolton, on the homo ground this time. Once again Apiti proved the winners. The Wildboro brothers scored most of the points. With the passing of Mr Scarborough Wright, of Kimbolton, much sympathy is felt for Airs Wright and her daughter, Mrs Fred Munro, of Apiti, both of whom arc well-known hero. The interment took place privately in Palmerston North on Saturday. . , The friends of Mr AA hit. Pratt, will be glad to know he is now definitely on the mend from a quinscy. Ml' C. M. Stanley lias now recovered from the same complaint. As a gesture of sympathy with the Stanley family, the AVomen’s Institute postponed the July meeting. 'The meeting will now be held to-iuorrow. Competitions arcßust flower or shrub out of my garden; boiled ginger cake made .from recipe on page 119 of the AA T omen’s Institute cookery book. Best piece of Italian quilting- The demonstration will be, “Work that can be done with a sewing machine.” The hostesses arc Mrs Ritchie Stewart, Mrs Abies, Mrs AVatkins, and Mrs J. Cawocd. Mr and Mrs Athol Viles spent the weekend in Wellington. Mr T. Purnell and bis daughter, Mrs T. Branjior, have returned homo from a week spent in Fcilding.
