AMERICAN AIR FORCE.
CONSTRUCTION OF BASES. WASHINGTON,-July 1. The War Department has announced plans for the construction of eight strategic air bases, including one near Fairbanks (Alaska), capable of handling a concentration in 24 hours at general headquarters of an air force of 1000 planes. A board of officers to survey the Alaskan project is already appointed.
