STAPLE FIBRE.
USE BY JAPAN. Received July 3, 9.20 a.m. TOKIO, July 2. Cotton and rayon industrialists have conferred with officials of the Ministry of Commerce for two days with a view to countering the Australian restrictions. With the development of the staple fibre industry it is proposed to establish a research institute to facilitate increased production of staple fibre by improving the installations in the rayon mills. Measures are being taken to ensure a smooth supply of wood pulp, and the Government are to popularise staple fibre goods.
