REMARKABLE GIFT.
SIMULTANEOUS WRITING. SYDNEY, July 1. A resident of the suburb of Heecroft, Mr Stirling Wilkinson, possesses the rare gift of being able to write or draw with both hands simultaneously. His own opinion is that he has a dual brain. He demonstrated by writing different words and sentences simultaneously with both hands, and also wrote the same words backward and made simultaneous entries of figures with both hands. He drew separate sketches at the same time with an exactness which astonished the Sydney Morning Herald interviewer. Mr Wilkinson explained that when he attended a kindergarten school lie found he was writing words backwards with his left hand. He was medically examined and the opinion was expressed ho either had a disease of the brain or the arm. Ilis left arm was strapped to his body in order that he might cultivate the correct manner of.writing. He relates that while attending college he was given 400 lines to write for some minor misdemeanour and, by using both hands at once, was able’ to accomplish the detention in half the time of the other boys. It was then that his ability to do two things at once was discovered, resulting in a subsequent detention being double that of the other boys. Mr Wilkinson declares that he finds it no strain on Ids brain to concentrate on writing and drawing with both hands.
