During the month of June births registered in Feilding increased bv two. compared with June of last year. There were three more deaths recorded and two more marriages. Watte, who has been employ'd bv the Feilding -Borough Council as dioithand-tvpiiite for the past 4$ years, has received an appointment with a firm of solicitors at T'e Ivuiti and will proceed there in about a month’s time. Mrs A. F. Beazer, of Makino, who has been spending a holiday at Wellington, has returned home. NOTES. In addition to the improvements being effected at the Feilding railway stock yards, the lighting system at the Station is being overhauled and more powerful lights installed. The condition of Joljn Laing. a Makino boy who suffered a painful accident on Monday when his horse .slipped on the wet bitumen and dislodged him, is improving and he should soon be about agin. Last evening, the Municipal Band held a good practice in the band hall. Members attended in fair numbers. A discussion took place regarding the proposal that the band render a programme on Saturday evenings and it was decided that 12 players would require to attend to make it worth while. At present it is not know whether this number can be secured, and the matter was left over tintil the next meeting.
