Batchelar tho local garden circle held their monthly meeting, there being a large attendance. Plants which wore given by Afrs Carruthers, of Palmerston North, and Airs A. Batchelar were divided among the members. Tho forthcoming Hover show was discussed. Mesdamcs D. Cun-in and J. Lynch read articles on floral work which were keenly followed by all. The competition for the day was for the best posy, which was judged by popular vole, and was won by Mrs A. Cun-in, Aire J. Lynch being second, and Aliss Rix third. Afternoon tea was served by tho hostesses. Aliss L. Irvine spent a few days as tho guest of Mrs Robertson, of Pougaroa.
