INJURIES PROVE FATAL.
WANGANUI TRAGEDY.

WANGANUI, July 1
Without regaining consciousness Henry Hooker, aged 78, who was admitted to the hospital , 011 Tuesday suffering from severe injuries to his head, legs and body, died this evening. Hooker was discovered ill a seriously injured condition last night lying in a street. At one stage the ,theory was that he had been the victim of an assault, but subsequent medical investigation suggests that lie had been knocked down and run over by a motor vehicle of some kind.
