OBITUARY.
MR AV. C. GRAXFIELD. (From Our Own Correspondent.) OTAKI, June 16. The death occurred at Otaki, yesterday morning, of Mr William Charles Granficld, second son of Mr E. Granficld, of Otaki. The deceased, who was 38 years of age, was born in Palmerston North, and started his school days at the Campbell Street School, but 6omc 26 years ago came to Otaki, and finished his education at the Otaki State School, where he was recognised as a most promising pupil, and popular with all his schoolmates. After leaving school he had an illness which extended over eight years. After making a recovery he carried on his trade as a painter and signwritcr, and much of his fine work is in evidence in Otaki and district to-day. Recently, Mr Granfield was compelled to take life easily, his health being far from satisfactory and a week or two ago he was obliged to take to his bed. Despite every attention and care he passed away. Much sympathy is felt for the bereaved father, and two sisters. A brother of the deceased, Edward, passed away in 1918 and another brother, Robert, in 1931. The late Mr Granficld was very popular with all.
