“Y” SOCIAL EVENING.
The Youth (or “Y”) branch of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union held a social evening with Mr C. Grover making a capable M.C. The evening was spent chiefly in games, but items were contributed by Mrs Chittenden (recitations), Mrs McCulloch (songs) and Adrienne Allen (recitation). The adult branch gave the dialogue, “The Trees of the Forest Shall Lift Up Their Voices.” Rev. R. Simpson gave an instructive and stimulating address. Miss Olga Clausen, the first president, who lias now given up this position on account bf having taken up nursing, was presented with two books as a mark of appreciation of her services. Mrs J. Renketli (the superintendent) was also presented with a book, it being her birthday. Supper was handed round by members of the W.C.T.U.
