REMAND ON BAIL.
SERIOUS CHARGE. Per Press Association. AVANGANUI, June 16. Maurice Edward Alexander, a bank teller, of Mangaweka, aged 32, who was charged yesterday at Alangaweka with the theft of £7.500, the property of the Bank of New Zealand, appeared on remand this morning before Air J. H. Salmon, S.AI. He was further remanded to Taihape on June 19. Air AA’. C. Bainbridge asked lor bail, stating that the whole of the money had been handed back by accused. The police offered no objections, and the Alagistrate said that under the circumstances be would fix it at self £2OO and a similar surety. Accused is to report daily to the police at Alangawelca.
