DARING BURGLARY.
AVAIPUKURAU INCIDENT. Per Press Association. AVAIPUKURAU, June 16. AVaipukurau was the scene of a daring burglary exploit at about 2.50 this morning when a man, thought by the night watchman, Air _E. G. Price, to be between 30 and 35 years of age, was found by him on tlio promises of H. B. Poppcllwell and Co., in Alain Street, packing up men’s clothing into boxes. Tlic burglar escaped and apparently reached a waiting car. He left an overcoat, chisel and tyre lever behind in his hurried exit. The criminal, or a confederate, evidently stole twelve gallons of petrol from F. AA’ells’s garage after smashing the lock. An endeavour was made to secure an entry to two other shops.
