OPENS NEXT WEDNESDAY. FEATURES OF INTEREST. Adopting ;from the outset of its organisation this year the slogan “Something New,” the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association, through its rigid adherence to this principle, has succeeded in encompassing for 'the six days’ duration of the fixture an amazingly wide sphere of entertainment. The Dominion has been searched for the latest Show attractions, the services of special artists have been ' engaged, and there is concentrated in the exhibition the most comprehensive programme ever offered at such a fixture. There are many features of exceptional interest, and the Show will provide a continuous round of pleasures. It might aptly he termed a carnival of entertainment subtly blended with the brightest methods of instruction and forms of competitive effort. Not one thing which would further contribute towards the already assured success of the Show has been neglected, and it will thoroughly deserve the unanimous commendation of patrons. “Scoota boats,” a popular form of entertainment for all ages and both sexes iu the main centres, will provide thrills on a specially constructed pond. CanvastowK, with its sideshow alleys, is now beginning to spring up in the amusement area, which will he the largest ever occupied. Car-parking facilities on the box plan have been arranged, and the space is being well booked.

Champions with raze-edged axes and rippling muscles will make the chips fly in the wood-chopping competitions. Hockey enthusiasts will be present in full force for the representative match between Manawatu and Wellington. Undoubtedly the grandstands and fence lining the oval will he packed with excited spectators for the annual Rugby match between Te Auto College and tv; Palmerston North Roys’ High School. Skidding. somersaulting and performing remarkable feats in standard vehicles with all-steel bodies, they will leave the public breathless, particularly when they hurtle through a flaming board wall of fire. Highland dancing, for which there are entrants from all parts of the North Island, will be staged in No. 5 hall. Free vaudeville sessions will be given frequently by Ivodama, the Japanese juggler, while daring feats will bo performed by spectacular trapeze artists, the two Colenos. Mickey Mouse, the children’s favourite, will lie in personal attendance at No. 5 hall ! for his birthday celebrations, and will distribute pieces of cake. His orchestra will he there, and Alphonse, the dancing duck, will go through some luuny antics. The wood-working -machinery will be' in actual operation in the same hall, and toys will be sold as they are made. Lucky samples of vacuum-packed cheese, many ot which contain a surprise, will be sold from a stand in the entertainment hall. Two aviaries, permitting freedom of flight, will be installed m the Cage Ril'd Show, for which special benching has been erected at the end of No. o hall, adjoining the hull where there will be a record display of poultry, cats and rabbits. Close by will be found the Motor Olympia, redesigned, and in its striking colours of royal blue and silver. Here will ho displayed the symmetrical lines of the -latest cars, with their marvellous aggregation of mechanical ingenuity. Every available foot of space is being utilised in the industrial halls for manufacturers’ and trade exhibit!., which cover a wide range and will be most attractively arranged. Outstanding features in the produceball will he a model, weighing over a ton, of the new vessel Orion, frozen meat exhibits, a gigantic pyramid of . cheese, and the butter displayed in the form of a bungalow whicu, softly lit from within, will have a green glazed tile roof and leadlight windows.
