Last evening the Ping Pong Club held their usual weekly gathering. A competition was organised, members forming A and B teams, tho B team winning by 11 games to 8. The results were: P. Old beat P. James 21—13, lost to Humphries 21—18, beat A. Nowell 21—16, Z. Jeffries 21 —13, Mrs F. Cowdrey 21 —10; 11. Humphries lost to D. Humphries 16—21, beat Mrs Cowdrey 21—13, Newell 21 —16, Jeffries 21 —15; Miss N. Jeffries lost to Newall 19—21, beat Jeffries 21—11, Mrs Cowdrey 21—13, lost to Humphries 10—21, James 18 —21; Aliss Je;n Groves beat Jeffries 21 —16, Airs Cowdrey 21—16, lost to Newall 12—21, Humphries 6 —21, James 12—21.
Airs C. Christian, who is an inmate of a private hospital in Feilding, is now progressing favourably after an operation. Messrs G.' and S. Marshall aro on holidayin Well ngton. Welcome rain has fallen throughout tho district after on unprecedented dry spell. Household water supplies were becoming exceedingly low.
