LINK WITH THE PAST. Per Press Association. I AUCKLAND, June 10. A number of bequests to missionary and kindred religious objects are provided for in the will of Alias B. H. C. M. Bruce, probate of which has been granted by the Supreme Court. Aliss Bruce's death occurred on April 14 at the age of 89, and her estate has been valued at £17,000. She was a member of a pioneer Rangitikei family, and her passing severed a link with Sir Walter Scott, as her mother was the Alrs Cunuinghiame referred to in Lockart’s account of Scott’s life. Bequests of £250 each are made to the South American Alission Society, to the Sudan United Mission, to the Regions Beyond Alissionary Union, to the Zenana Bible and Aledical Alission, and to the British and Foreign Bible There are also two bequests of £IOOO each, one to the Aged and Infirm Alinlsters’ Fund of the Presbyterian Church of New* Zealand, and _ one to the Infirm Alissionaries’ Fund, if there is such a fund or, failing that, to the Presbyterian Church property trustees to form the nucleus of a fund for establishing a building for the benefit of retired missionaries. The legacies to the last two charities are to be supplemented by a further £IOOO each out of the residue of the estate if there, are sufficient funds, and any remaining money will go to the Scripture Gift Alission, London. These legacies-are payable out of a fund set- aside for producing annuities and will not be payable until the death of the annuitants. 'The will also provides that certain debentures are to go to the Alildmay Alission to Jews.
