CHINA AND JAPAN.
ECONOMIC CLASH. Received Mav 16, 1.50 p.m. LONDON, May 15. Tho Sun-Herald Service says that Japanese smuggling activities, currency manipulation, and the development of their autonomy movement are undermining China’s economic and financial strength. They threaten to prevent the projected currency reform in connection with which Sir Frederick Leith Ross is at present in China.
