MEN’S CLUB

The usual fortnightly meeting of All Saints’ Men’s Club took place on Wednesday, the programme consisting of a lecture by Mr C. F. Spooner, followed by a discussion, cards, and social chat. In respect to the memory of the lato Mr F. H. Ovvtrani, members stood for a moment in silence. Mr Spooner chose “Poise” for his subject and dealt most interestingly and instructively on one’s own ability to react to positive virtues and keep free from the negative. He expressed the opinion that no goal in life was unattainable provided the individual was willing to work diligently towards the same. Tbe speaker bold the attention of his hearers throughout and at the conclusion of his address answered a number of questions. On the motion of Mr J. L. Harwood a hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr Spooner. The stewards for the evening, Messrs Goldfinch and Howard, provided supper.
