RULE IN ABYSSINIA.
I ITALIANS' CLAIM DISPUTED. Received May 14, 1.10 p.m. ADDIS ABABA, May 13. Marsha] Badoglio -triumphantly paraded his troops and declared that they had conquered the whole of Abyssinia, but a despatch from Khartoum simultaneously announced that the Abyssinian Government was functioning at Gore (Western Abyssinia), whither several Ministers departed with the State archives. The Italian headquarters still deny that the enrolment of native troops is contemplated. Peaceful conditions have almost been re-established at Harar. Many marauders have surrendered and the inhabitants are returning to their homes. Somali villagers uproariously welcomed the incoming of the Italian Army of occupation, which was celebrated by an impressive ceremony by an impressive service at the old palace, followed by a ceremony in the sacked Italian Consulate.
