(From Our Own Correspondent.) SANSON, May 15. Tho 61st anniversary concert of the Sanson Methodist Church Was hold in the Town Hall on Wednesday evening, and those present were treated with a well rendered programme of vocal and elocutionary items provided by the Palmerston North St. Paul's Methodist Church choir under the conductorehip of Mr A. Trogurtha. Mrs H. E. Woodhousc and Miss Nola Trcgurtha acted as Rev. R. E. Fordycc as chairman extended a very warm welcome to Mr Trcgurtha and the choir, and to Rev. A. N. Scotter (chairman of the Hawke's Bay-Mana-watu Methodist Synod). Mr Scottcr extended his congratulations to the Sanson Church on completing another year so successfully, and lie wished the minister and the members continued success. 'The church secretary (Mr T. H. Tremain) road tho annual balance-sheet of the trust account, which disclosed a small credit. Mr Tromain mentioned that the proceeds of the diamond jubilee last year were £lOl, and of this amount £BB was spent on repairing and painting both the church and tho par sonage. Mr Forcfycc presented a report on the activities of the Church, stating that marriages, removals and >ot her causes had adversely affected the evening congregation in particular. Ho thanked the _ officials, members ,and adherents for their kind and loyal support through the year. “Wo liavo a small but very reliable Ladies' Guild,” said Mr Fordyce. “They can always be relied on to do their bit.” Furthering his report. Mr Fordyce mentioned the loss the Church had sustained in the recent death of Mr F. W. Tostovin, who was a valuable worker. ' Much pastoral visiting had been carried out and if any person wished for more visits he was_ prepared to do so. Mr Fordyce mentioned the activities of the senior Bible class and hoped the members would be augmented during the coming year. Concluding, he referred to the happy relations that existed between the minister and the people and expressed the hope that, they would long continue. The opportunity was taken of presenting the Church organist (Mrs •las. Bowater) with a token of the congregation's appreciation for her faithful service over many years. At the eonclu sion of the concert programme the performers and visitors were entertained to supper, th earrangoments for which wore in the hands of Mesdames W. E. Pearce and J. 11. Palmer, assisted by Misses F. Palmer and E. Pearce. Mr Albert Mathews acted as doorkeeper. Mr T. 11. Tremain thanked Mr Trcgurtha and the choir, the motorists, and the ladies for providing and making possible such an enjoyable evening. Mr Scottcr, on be half of the visitors, thanked the Sanson people for their kind reception and entertainment. In addition to tlm items by tho full choir iMsses G Laurenson I. Clark and J.
