POHANGINA VALLEY.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) POHANGINA. AM 9. On Monday evening a meeting of the district hall committees’ representatives was held in the Raumai Hall. Mr 1. Spelman presiding. Messrs F. Dunstall J. A. McDone'.l and H. Woodroofe, representing the Ashhurst Hall Committee, also attended. The chairman explained that the meeting had been convened by the social sub-committee of the Raumai Hall Committee w'-th the object of promoting cooperation between the various hall committees in .arranging dates for the coming winter’s events and thus avoiding clashing ot dates, which minimised the success of functions. He was sorry that the Pohangina Hall Committee was not represented at tne meeting but any decisions arrived at would be submitted to that body for its approval. After a discussion, the following resolution was carried unanimously “That the secretaries of the hall committees be asked to notify the secretaries of the adjacent hall committees of future book’ngs to avoid the clashing' of dates, and that the secretaries of sports dubs bo requested to confer with the secretary of their local hall committee before fixing the dates of their functions.” Referring to Raumai’s future social ovents, Mr Spelman stated that a concert and dance in aid of the hall funds would be held early in May. Selwyn Motors’ concert party are to render the concert programme and a professional orchestra has been engaged to supply th dance music.
