POPPY DAY.
PREPARATIONS BY R.S.A. AVith Poppy Day only a short time away, the local branch of the R.S.A. are making extensive preparations in connection with the appeal. This year the campaign has been considerably extended, the district having been broken up into districts under the charge of lady helpers. The business area will be canvassed during the morning and it is hoped that the returns will be considerably greater than have been received in former years. It is considered by the committee that, in comparison with other cities in New Zealand, the returns from Palmerston North have been low and in an endeavour to remedy this the campaign is being intensified this year.
