LEAGUE CONCILIATION EFFORTS MR EDEN SEEKS ACTION. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received April 9. 1.50 p.m. GENEVA, April 8. The British report on the use of poison gas ill Abyssinia included the evidence of the British doctors, Dr. Melly and Dr. Macfie, and the Irish doctor, Dr. Brophil. In a statement. Dr. Juned, of the International Red Cross, showed they had treated large numbers of cases of wounds caused by gas. Mr R. A. Eden, raising the question of the peace efforts, said that five weeks had elapsed since M. Flandin’s appeal. “Both parties have recourse to conciliation within the framework of the League. There has been no progress, but on the contrary intensification of the war. AVe must have an immediate cessation of hostilities and negotiation,” Mr Eden said. M. Flandin urged the committee not to rush matters. He said France was of the opinion that the cessation of hostilities should be followed by the raising of sanctions. Mr Eden drily replied : There is no danger of the committee being accused of rushing the question 1 The committee then instructed Senor Madariaga to contact with Baron Aloisi (Italy).
