A RECIPE.
PUZZLE PUDDING. Rub 3 tablespoons of shredded suet or butter into 2 teacups of self-raising flour, add a pinch salt, 2 tablespoons sugar and J cup of sultanas, and make into a stiff dough with water. Roll out and, with two-thirds of the crust, line a greased pudding basin ; put i teacup of butter and same of sugar in the centre, and cover with remainder of the crust; cover with greased paper, and steam for 2 hours. Serve in the basin neatly covered with a paper serviette and the centre will be full of rich butter sauce and none other is needed.
