WRECKED SAMPAN.
Received April 9, 10.5 a.m. CANBERRA, April 9. Officers “of the Department of the Interior said the Japanese sailors from the wrecked sampan would be allowed to remain on Thursday Island without any restrictions until arrangements were made to send them back to Japan. v At Brisbane,the captain of the sampan related their experiences following the wreck, but declined to give any information about their movements before the wreck, and what class of products they were trying to obtain.
