NEW LINERS.
SIMILAR TO STRATHMORE. LONDON, April 9. The P. and O. Steamship Company announces that orders for two new vessels similar to the Strathmore are being placed with Vickers-Armstrong, Ltd., following a decision to reorganisce the company’s Australian service. The present branch-line vessels will be withdrawn as they arrive in England. SERVICE TO CEASE? REPORT IN SYDNEY. Received April 11, 9.25 a..m. SYDNEY. April 11. , It is reported here that the P. and 0. branch line service between Australia and London is going out of existence. The last vessel is sailing from Australia at the end of the month, it is stated.
