FIRE IN SCHOOL.
BUILDING SAVED. Per Press Association. DARGAVILLE, April 7. The Tangiteroria School narrowly escaped destruction by fire. The children had cleared up rubbish which had been burnt some distance from the building, but later it was discovered that a corner of the school was alight, the fire having travelled along the drain. By the strenuous efforts of the teacher and residents the flames were subdued. Fortunately there was no wind, otherwise the building would have been destroyed. One room was badly damaged.
