We herald the velvet season with the new and very smart shot effects. Hard to describe because of their charnelou characteristics, they vary in effect like a changing mood. The colours themselves have quite intriguing names —Argus pheasant, wild duck, plum dust, peacock plume, pigeon’s breast, and mandarine duck. Made up, they will look most distinctive for evening wear, a night wedding, or a guest frock. The fabric 16 almost entirely crcaseless—a great advance in velvets. All 36 inches wide, reasonably priced at 12s 6d yard. Collinson and Cunninghame Ltd. —Advt.
