ST. DAVID’S CHURCH.

LADIES’ GUILD. The Ladies’ Guild of St. David’s Church, Terrace End, held their monthly social on Friday afternoon, when there was a very good attendance. Mrs A. Stewart presided and the proceedings were opened with the singing of a liymn, and the guild prayer. The two ladies appointed for visiting during the month were Aledumes Stewart and F. AlcLaclilan. The members were advised that the last Sunday in March was Thanksgiving Sunday and that on the following Aloud ay evening all the produce sent to the church would bo auctioned. ATrs Stewart also intimated that a playreading circle had been formed to be called “The St. David’s Players.” The first meeting would bo held on Alondav, Afarch 23. An invitation was received from St. Andrew’s Church Ladies’ Guild for the ladies of the St. David’s Guild to attend their next afternoon, to he held in the old Sunday school room. All the members present expressed their intention of attending.

An enjoyable programme was placed before tho gathering, those contributing being Airs C. Anderson (vocal solos), Airs Chittenden (recitations) and Alesdames Squire, Glendinning, Holmes and AJiss AX. Aloffatt (play reading). Competitions were won by Alesdames 11. 15. Townshond, and Hopkirk. Afternoon tea was handed round by the hostesses, Alesdames F. Anderson. C. Andorson and Lucas. Thanks to the, performers were expressed by Rev. J. S. Rato, after which the meeting was brought to a close with the Doxology.
