UNIQUE COOKING CONTEST. Much interest lias been aroused by the announcement regarding tlie “If you could ofdy cook’' free competition, for which a number of valuable prizes arc being offered. The competition, full details of which are published on page 7 of today’s “Evening Standard” is is open to all amateur cooks. The first prize is a most generous one and has been donated by the Palmerston North City Council and Brinsley’s Radiation, Ltd., Dunedin, and consists of a *biand new Champion cooker, valued at £l6. Tho second prize, carrying a value of fivo guineas, has been donated by W. H. Boon and Co., and E. P, VVix, Ltd. Tho third prize, totalling two guineas, is donated by tho White Cloucl Icing Sugar Company. In addition to those major prizes there will be sixteen consolation prizes, which have been donated by the Regent Theatre. Entry tonns may be obtained from any of the above-mentioned firms and intending entrants are reminded that their ontries must he delivered to the Regent Theatre not later than noon on Saturday next. Judging will take place the same afternoon, and tlie prizewinners will bo announced and prizes presented by tlie Mayor at the Regent ’J hcatre during the interval on Saturday night next
