Thain now lies in hospital with nothing worse than facial abrasions and shock. The signals Were set and a crossingkeeper Was in the centre of the road with a “stop” sign. When the van approached the keeper fantically signalled, but the driver went on and bit the centre of the train. The van was completely wrecked.
