RANGITIKEI MEETING.

The Rangitikci Racing Club’s autumn meeting will bo held at Bulls on Wednesday. March 4, the first raco starting at 12.30 p.m., and tho last at 5 p.m., providing patrons with an attractive afternoon’s sport on a racecourse ideally fitted for witnessing tho rating from start to finish. Increased stakes and a hack trophy event are noticeable in this year’s programme, while the llangitikei Cup, of £l3O, one and a-quarter miles, and the Bailey Handicap, of £IOO. seven furlongs, are other good races. Mr J. Henrys (handicapper), Mr W. C. Price (starter) and Mr A. V. O’Brien (judge) will officiate as usual. The course proper is in splendid order, frequent rains taking the sting out of the ground, while a good sole of grass makes the going easy. Taranaki horses usually take °a prominent part in tho racing at Bulls, and tho meeting is a popular one with Taranaki sportsmen. Free boxes and paddocks, with first-class accommodation at reasonable rates, arc features of interest to owners, trainers and attendants. Nominations for all events close with the secretary Mir E. Y. Wilson, Bulls (phone 65 Bulls), on Monday, February 17, at 9 p m The Bulls telegraph office closes at 5 p.m., but the telephone may be used until 9 p.m.
