(From Our Own Correspondent.) OH AREA, Feb. 12. The ball was well filled by residents on Friday when a farewell function was tendered Mr Gordon Gray. Dai.ieing was in dulgcd in to music supplied by Mr and Mrs Butler and extras were contributed by Mr H. McKinnon. Mr Iv. Bailey gave a recitation. Mr Bailey, on behalf of the residents, presented Mr Gray with a wallet of notes, and stated that Mr Gray ban always taken a keen interest in the welfare of the district as was evidenced by liis good work in the Rifle and Fooiba;. Clubs and on the Mail Committee. On behalf of the residents ho thanked Mr Gray for bis services and wished him the boi of success in his new sphere. Mr Gray briefly thanked those present, for the gifl and stated that what he bad been able tc do had given him a great deal of pleasure. Mr Gray will bo residing in Wanganui, where he lias received an appointment. Mr and Airs B. Palmer and visitors from Homo aro- spending their holidays at Rotorua. Mrs E. Richardson, of Hamilton, is staying with Miss Esmc Simpson. Miami Airs H. Ellery are spending a few days in Ilawcra. Miss lona Ellery has returned home after spending her holidays at Opiki as the guest of her uncle.
