LIFE SENTENCE.

HARD LABOUR TERM. Received February 12, 11.55 a.m. ADELAIDE, Feb. 12. Arthur Nelsan Durrant has been sentenced to imprisonment for life with hard labour, having pleaded guilty to manslaughter when charged with having murdered Joyce Forbes. Durrant was found not guilty on the ground of insanity when charged some weeks ago with having murdered Hugh Forbes, the father of Joyce. The bodies of Hugh Forbes, a farmer, aged 45, his wife, aged 40, and their 16-ycar-old daughter Joyce were found buried 10 feet' below a manure Jieap at the Forbes’s farm five miles from Mount Barker, on September 30. The family had been missing for several days. AH had been shot with a rifle.. Arthur Durrant, aged 22, who had been employed by Forbes, was arrested on a charge of murdering the trio.
