HOSPITALS BENEFIT. Per Press Association. ASHBURTON, Feb. 11. The late Miss Jane Chalmers left the following bequests: —Presbyterian Aged Ministers’ Fund, £SOOO ; 1 resbytcriaii. Orphanages, £5000; <St. oaviour’s Guild Orphanage, £5000; Salvation Army, £5000: Jubilee Institute for the Blind, £5000; City of Perth Infirmary, Scotland, for the erection or an establishment and the endowment of a wing or ward, £20.000; North Canterbury Hospital Board, in trust, the income to be used for maintenance in the Chalmers Ward, Christchurch, of such persons as the trustees deem fit, the balance of the income to be paid to the board for general maintenance and upkeep of the Chalmers Ward, £10,000; Ashburton Hospital Board, in trust, the income to be used for the endowment, maintenance and upkeep of the women’s ward at Ashburton, £IO,OOO. The residue of the estate is to be invested and the income divided equally between the Ashburton and Christchurch Hospital Boards. It is estimated that the residue will produce at least £20,000 more for each of these
