(From Our Own Correspondent.) V OPIKI, Jan. 19.
A general committee meeting of the Opiki Women’s Institute was held in the supper room of the hall on Friday alternoon. Mrs Wilde presided. Apologies foi absence wore received from Mosdamcs Hansen, Norman, and White. Business included, inainlv, arrangements for the February meeting, which will be, as usual, on the third Wednesday in the month. The ■competitions for the day will be for the host three varieties of bottled fruit, and the best worked buttonhole, to be worked at home. Members may enter for either or. both competitions. The demonstration on barbola work will he given, and a social half-hour will follow. Each member is asked to. bring a photograph of herself, taken when a baby, or when a young child. The hostesses will ho Mcsdamos Norman, Tloin and Webb, and Miss J. Southoc, and those members whose names begin with A to inclusive are asked to bring a plate. The gardening circle will again hold a sale table and plants, seedlings or bulbs should find a ready sale. , , Mrs Perry, of Palmerston North, who has been tile guest ot Mrs J. Buglass, has returned to her home. - Mrs Gregory, of Wellington, is the guest of Mrs Unstead.
