TRAGIC DEATH.
A fatality, occurred on Saturday near Tiakitahuna when a patient being conveyed to the mental hospital at Porirua met his death. He was Lawrence Frederick McNie, aged 25, of Raetihi, who was under escort. At 1.15 he jumped from the car in front <>ne being driven by Dr Mitchell, of Palmerston North, and sustained head injuries from which he died immediately.
