CARE OF STOCK
ADDRESS AT RONGOTEA. There was a good attendaoe in the Town Board room at Rongotea, last night, when, by invitation, Mr H. It. Denize, inspector of stock in the Department of Agriculture, addressed the Young Farmers’ Club on the care of stock Air G. Burgess presided and associated with him were Mr H- feeott (secretary) and Mr W. Scott (treasurer). . . Air Denize stressed the importance of correct feeding of stock, especially cattle and pigs. Calves should be nourished in such a manner that the future dairy stock would be fortified with strong powers of resistance against disease, lie said. The function of the cow was to produce and reproduce, and its value depended upon the success with which this was performed. A general discussion followed on a variety of affiliated subjects and at the conclusion Mr Denize was accorded a vote of thanks on the motion of the chairman.
