MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
A CASE REMANDED. A canvasser appeared before Mr .J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court on Saturday on the charge that, with intent to defraud, he obtained los from Sarah Teresa Murphy by means of a valueless cheque. On the application of Detective-Sergeant Bickerdike, who stated that there were further inquiries to be made, accused was remanded to appear again on Wednesday next. Accused’s name was suppressed in the meantime at his own request and bail was fixed in his own recognisance of £IOO, with one surety of £IOO.
