The following report will be presented at the annual general meeting of the Feilding Swimming Club: —“The season has been a very successful one, both financially and from the members point of view. The membership roll stands at 47, 21 seniors and 26 juniors. The club was fortunate in being able to send Mise P. Sporle to the New Zealand senior championships at Auckland, and although Miss Sporle was not successful in the champion events, she put up a very creditable performance. The undermentioned Manawatu championships were won by chib members: Ladies’ 50 yards champion, Miss P. Sporle: ladies’ 100 yards champion, Miss P. Sporle; ladies’ championship dive, Miss D. Sargisson; 75 yards intermediate girls’ breaststroke champion, Miss P. Broad; 100 yards ladies bieaststroke champion. Miss P. Broad; 100 yards men’s champion, free-style, Mr C. McColl. The club cups were won by the following: Parsonage Memorial Cup, P. Harford; Haybittle Cup, T. Dewe; Ladies’ Fisher Cup, Miss P. Sporle; Girls’ Fisher Cup, Miss F. Johnson; Bramwell Cup, P. Fade; Eade Cup, R. Eade; Raugitikei Cup, D. Simmonds; ladies’ points cup, Miss B. Harford; men’s points cup, G. Grindrod; boys’ points cup, T. We conducted one carnival during the season, which proved very successful, finishing up with a net profit of £24 18s lid. At the close of the season, the committee organised an invitation dance. Although the profit for this only amounted to 19s 7d, the dance was well worth having, and was enjoyed by all those who attended and we sincerely hope that we shall be able to make tliis into an annual affair. The club’s tEa.nks are due to the council for paying £5 towards the cost of a new diving board, which wa6 badly needed. The club wishes to thank Mr P. G. Guy and the members of tlie Power Board, who organised the lighting arrangements at the carnival free of charge; also the ladies’ . committee who so willingly helped at the carnivals, club nights and the dance. Their efforts are fully appreciated by all swimming enthusiasts.”
