HIGH SCHOOL ROAD RACE.
HEARSEY THE WINNER. The annual road race of the Palmerston North Roys’ High School was held this week, when 1. Hearsey registered his third successive win and established a fresh record, clipping approximately 18sec. off his own record made two years ago. By his splendid effort Ilearsey retains the AValdegrave Cup. A big field competed, and the first four home were : —I. Hearsey (Albion) 1, E. Culpan (Phoenix) 2, N. Hearsey (Albion) 3, K. Eletcher (Phoenix) 3. In conjunction with the contest an inter-club competition was conducted, points being awarded in proi>ortion to the first 50 runners to reach the tape. The placings were: —Phoenix, 417; Gordon, 317; Albion, 292; Kia Ora, 249.
