PACIFIC AIR SERVICE.
BRIGHT PROSPECTS FOR DOMINION. Reference to the proposal of an American company to institute an air service between Sail Francisco and Auckland was made by Air W. J. Broadfoot, who expressed the hope that any technical or other difficulties that lay in the way of the establishment of the' service would be satisfactorily overcome.
I “It has been to the detriment of New Zealand,” said Mr Broadfoot, “that it !is such an isolated country, and this i service opens up wonderful prospects i for the future. At the present time a person on the other side of the world who wishes to visit New Zealand has to spend about three months in travelling. With an air service of this kind in operation, however, a visitor could ,do a trip through the Dominion in three weeks, and it would be a great inducement to people with money to spend it in New Zealand.”
