SNAKE IN THEATRE
FAILS TO CAUSE EXCITEMENT
A snake was found in Darwin’s open-air picture theatre on a recent night. Tho reptile was about six feet in length, and black in colour. It was noticed by a woman in the audience crawling among the seats- in the upstairs (European) section. There was not much excitement, for snakes are common in Darwin, many being harmless. The woman directed tho attention of Captain Gregory, a pearler, to the reptile, and he seized it by the tail and broke its back across a seat. Then lie hurled it out through a window. The audience settled down again to enjoy the picture
