RONGOTEA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) RONGOTEA, Sept. 25. A most successful dance was held last night when the Rongotea Football Club s annual function took place. Ihe hall had never looked more attractive, a distinctive scheme of decoration in red, white and blue being carried cut with streamers flags and balloons, while tho front of the stage was outlined with arge bowls of anemones in tho same colours The supper tables were resplendent with stlvor P cups and vases filled with daffodils, and the calablcs were displayed in most appetising variety. .The ladies committee who were responsible, deserved all the commendation bestowed on them for their efforts Mr Douglas Knight was a most efficient M.C. Mr W. A. Davison (president of the club) called on Mr A. N. Morcom (president of the Te Kawau Rugby Sub-Union) to present the McKclvie Shield to the winners of the third grade competition. In handing oven" this handsome trophy to the team’s captain (S Burgess), Mr Morcojn congratulated the team on their skill at the game and their captain on his tact in holding the team together and maintaining such a high standard of play through the season. There were also two medals donated anonymously for the primary school players j Pne for the most improved player was presented to Don Hancox and the other for the most unselfish player o Trevor Wood Mr Morcom, on behalf of tho management committee of the sub-union, thanked Mr Davison for his untiring efforts on behalf of Rugby in this district.
