LAND SPEED RECORDS.
A PROVISIONAL RETIREMENT.
SIR MALCOLM CAMPBELL. LONDON, Sept. 25. Sir Malcolm Campbell, at a dinner in celebration of his recent achievement, revealed that he had promised his wife never again to attack the world land speed record when once ho had passed a speed of 300 miles an hour.
“I said I would give it up and I am going to do so,” he said, “with the one proviso that if a foreigner breaks the record I will try again. If a Britisher woes out I will do my utmost to assist him.”
