DRAMA OF THE SEA.
CREW ALL LOST. FISHERMAN HEARS S.O.S. Received September 26, 11.10 a.m. LONDON, Sept. 26. A fisherman at Filey, listening at home on his wireless set, tuned in on the trawlers’ wave-length and heard a voice says:—“Skegness calling all stations! Am grounded.” Then it stopped abruptly The Scarborough and Flamborougli lifeboats put out in a heavy gale and were unable to reach tho Skegness. Five life-lines fired by the rocket apparatus were all blown back and the sixth fell right over the Skegness, but no one secured it.
The Skegness was pounded to pieces on the rocks and all eleven members of the crew were drowned.
