RAILWAY STOCK TRAFFIC.
FEILDING FIGURES
According to the returns in the Railway Statement, the stock traffic dealt with at the Feilding railway station show the station to be very near the top of all the main centres in New Zealand. During the last 12 months approximately 508,000 sheep and 44,000 head of cattle were dealt with at the local station, this being for both inward and outward traffic. On the inward side 271,676 sheep were handled in the 12 months ended March 31, and 26,000 head of cattle. During the same period 18,000 cattle and 287,000 sheep were sent away from Feilding, the totals giving an indication of the heavy and constant traffic in stock at the station and saleyards.
