BOY’S MISTAKE.
BENZINE POURED ON FIRE. WARKWORTH, Sept. 24. Facial and chest burns were suffered by Lindsay Halligan, the 8-year-old son of Mr and Mrs P. S. Halligan, of Warkworth, necessitating his removal to hospital. In lighting a fire in the kitchen range during the absence of liis parents the boy made use of benzine in mistake for kerosene and there was a sudden burst of flame. Fortunately the lad’s clothes did not catch fire and lie had the presence of mind to apply petroleum jelly to iiis burns.
