RAILWAY SERVICE.
PRESENTATION MADE. Having retired on superannuation, Mr F. Dillon, who held the post of passenger foreman at the Palmerston North railway station, was met by his fellow employees, this week, and presented with a travelling rug. Mr Dillon had been 31 years in the service of the department, the last three of which he had spent at this centre. The presentation was made by Mr J. Muirhead, senior foreman, who eulogised Mr Dillon’s services to the department. Other speakers were Messrs A. H. Northover (stationmaster), D. W. Creed, B. Abraham, J. Carmine, F. Robertson, F. Holder, A. McPherson, S. Hunt, J. Stevens, W. O’Donnell and A. Standen.
