FAST NEW TRAIN.
SATISFACTORY TRIALS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Sept. '23. The new streamlined pxpress “Silver Jubilee.” which the London and NorthEastern Railway is putting into service between London and Newcastle next Monday, underwent trials to-day in which the engine maintained a speed of over 100 miles per hour over six miles down falling grades, the maximum speed recorded being a fraction over 101 miles per hour. On the reverse run the engine reached the summit at 72 miles per hour.
