The boiler of the locomotive of the night express tram from Modano to Paris burst near Tonay (Ain) when trie train was running at about 50 miles an hour. The train was not derailed, and it quickly came to a stop, the brakes having been applied as the vacuum apparatus on the footplate broke. The driver and fireman were found lying dead on the line. No one olse was injured.
